QUESTION

I recently went to the bathroom and when I wiped I had a mucus discharge with a very bad sour smell. What could this be? I have also had some cramping and bleeding last week.

ANSWER

ANY bleeding during pregnancy should be reported promptly to your provider. If you have a foul odor, it is possible that you have a vaginal infection; if so, it is best to get that treated promptly also.

So if you haven't seen your provider yet, a call would be in order.
